Just phoned up and ordered TVX for my NTL Cable connection, and guess what? No ?12 connection fee, and no 12 month contract! Are TAC still boasting they're the only channel with none of these?

I was most cheered. :)

So after many years, TVX have finally scrapped their connection fee and long term contract.

Next thing you know, their presenters will be starring in their own shows. (sorry that was unnecessarily bitchy).

I, for one, am glad that they've caught up with TAC in giving value for money and providing viewers with a wider choice of programmes.

And with the connection money saved, you can subscribe to TAC as well. (Sorry Alec - That was pretty shameless).

curious.

only a few months ago tvx told me they couldn't possibly make a non-subscription model work for them.

tvx always claims to be the nations favourite adult entertainment channel. does anyone know the viewing figures for tvx/tac?

You've all missed the significant word in the original post - cable. I wasn't charged a connection fee when I had cable either. I doubt very much that if it had been Sky or On Digital that there wouldn't have been a connection fee.

You're right it's a cable thing. They won't charge a connection fee on cable, but on Sky they'll still screw you. Plus you have to sign up for a year! TAC let you sign up for as little or as long as you want.

TVX and TAC have always been available on Cable on a month by month subscription if required, you'll probably find that the yearly subscription on SKY Digital is down to TVX rather than SKY whom i would suspect would be quite happy if monthly subscriptions where available as it would probably increase the number of potential subscribers taking up the service therefore increasing their revenue as with other stand alone channels, MUTV etc.
