I apologise if this has been discussed allready but i'd really like to know - just how much can channels like TVX get away with? How rude and explicit do they get?

The guide lines are blurry, but suffice to say, I've seen things which i shouldn't and when I edit a programmes for subscription based TV I've put things in that have pushed those guide lines back. There are some hard and fast rules i.e. penetration etc, but again, these have been known to get through. Language is no problem, and as long as noone is abused, it's arbritrary. However TAC is more erotic than TVX, the latter being much more gonzo based.

As per a recent thread regarding the editing of 'Labia', recently presented to the BBFC for certification, digital porn channels (and by that I mean not Channel 5) largely fall into '18' certificate-ville. Programmes produced in this country by some very lovely people some of which are on this forum, tend to land somewhere between 18 certificate and R18. I have no idea why things that are shown on televeision have to be cut if you want to buy it on video, but there you go, that's Britain for you.

When I worked for TVX the guidelines were,as another contributor has said, similar to those for 18 certs ie not much stronger than Channel 5's Friday night films. Some shows were shot soft and hard but only shown soft - shame but as the previous chap said - that's Britain for you...

18 video is much much softer than TAC subscription, 18 and ITC channel 5 are similar, but subscription is much harder. In fact, I've just finished a cut for cable/subscription and it is not far off the hard version. This is only due to well set-up camera angles and interpretation of what is allowed. As said before, Panties was probably the hardest show to date aired at the time, the defining difference was that all pussies were covered with pants, the action ended up being more erotic than a girl with things in her pussy, which to be honest, you can see on any video anywhere.
The debate rests in whether you just want to see graphic pornography or not, if your mind is tuned to watching 25 minutes of TV, then labia or panties will make you wank or you can just watch it as entertainment. If you want a quick off the wrist, then pop into soho and get a crappy american film with hard core fucking.
The beauty of being british is that guidelines cause you to get around things, perhaps causing a mainstream/porn crossover. Capital Ride with Shag & Mutt was excellent and from the editor (not me) was just as good without the sex.

The Uniforms series seems to follow the same criteria. In view of what gets shown on TVX/Fantasy CH generally these shows are very near the mark and all the better for it. If any of the good gents above know who to email about getting hold of the uncut versions my email is attached but these seem to be closely guarded secrets....despite the fact that they are all shot so obviosuly HC.
