To operate an agency is legal provided you are hiring the girl to the client for her time only. What takes place in private is none of the agency's business-knowledge of any sexual activity could result in a charge of living off immoral earnings. To be an escort is legal as indeed is prostitution.

"Living offf imorral earnings" What a load of 19th century bollocks, hey? Why hasn't this law been struck off the statue books and why aren't we storming the barricades to make it so?

This is an old chestnut, but here goes: if prostitutes pay tax, why aren't the Govt prosecuted for living off immoral earnings?
And why don't they get U/E benefit?

They were - in fiction anyway. In one of the old TV series A. P. Herbert's Misleading Cases starring Roy Dotrice as Albert Haddock and Alistair Sim as the judge, at the end the clerk announces the next case Haddock v. The Inland Revenue. He was suing them for living off immoral earnings in exactly these circumstances.

It's amazing the trivia gathering dust in my mental attic, e.g. it was also A.P. Herbert who wrote (not sure I've got this exactly right) -
Of the portions of a woman that excite a man's depravity
There is one which is quite beyond compare.
For what appears at first to be a simple little cavity
Is really an elaborate affair.
