Hi,

Some people have tried to contact us and they use AOL mail address...then they tell us that we dont reply...WE DO...AOL dont let the mail through to you....We got a friend to set up a free mail account with hotmail...we sent mail to him at the hotmail account and his AOL account...he got the ones at hotmail but not at AOL....It has also been pointed out that some people using AOL browsers cant view adult sites or certain pages...The answer to that is use IE or Netscape...
AOL appear to be like microsoft and want to rule the world.

aol may want to become like microsoft, but that will never happen, in the last 6 months more people changed from aol to another isp then people starting up an aol account.

Anyone recommend a cheap mac friendly ISP?
I hate the way AOL sticks its own dial up software on my computer when it already has all the software it needs.

I've been with AOL for a year and have never had trouble with email filtering OR the browser. Have you set the parental controls properly? Go to CUSTOMISE > PARENTAL CONTROLS and set them to the lowest level and you will have no more problems. Probably ;o)

I don't have browser problems!! Parental control is @18+ general access. The problem is with incoming e mails from certain adult sites, AOL are actively filtering mail from these sites, I tried the same thing as Raven, the mail reaches msn addy no probs!! Thinking of changing ISP soon anyway + broadband. Any suggestions? fuji

Its not me who has the problem...its other people...i wouldnt use AOL if they were the last server on the net.
AOL do filter mail from adult sites..its been proven time and time again....
If you dont have any problems you are very lucky. we do tell people to check their parental control but some users still have problems getting into Adult sites....We have a member who used AOL for 2 weeks then he was unable to get into the members area on one of our sites...He changed his e-mail address and asked our advice..He tried the IE browser and got straight in to the members area....He has no kids and the parental control is off....So AOL do what they want and when they feel like it.

Hi, I ve used aol for some years and still use for convenience and historical reasons. I have no problems like this, in fact junk adult mail is now a pain, generally 6-10 a day getting through.
