Out of sheer boredom (it's Mother's Day - what can I say?) I started searching the Forum Archive and came across a thread about the whereabouts of the gorgeous Gaynor Bell.
A couple of years ago (1999, I think it was) I was in Durban, S. Africa, and Miss Bell was destroying the local male population with a pole dancing routine in one of the beach front hotels. Imagine - front page headlines on the local papers for days on end. You had to book way ahead to get in to see the show! I wasn't there long enough to see it, but she was the talk of the town, the province, and the country. Sizzling was the word that was used to describe the routine, and I understand that you were NOT allowed in without a box of Kleenex.

My most abiding memories of Gayor Bell was the time she sat at the next table to mine in a transport cafe Nr Abergavenny (a previous existence in which I was a rough, tough, artic driver) She looked unspeakably pretty sat there with her pristine white 'Current Bun' T-Shirt on flanked by two Current Bun minders. A bird of paradise thrown into stark relief by her humble surroundings. I was transfixed.

It looked like they were on some kind of promotional visit. Gaynor nibbled on a piece of toast and gingerly sipped a bucket-sized mug a 'char' but she seemed very much a fish out of water. It was obvious that she couldn't wait to get back to civilisation - which for her at that point probably meant 'Stringys.' After a while, they got up and departed in a large Mercedes. I guess it was around that time that I first thought to myself "Fuck this for a lark. I want to be one of those geezers with a big Merc and premier league dolly birds on my arm." Thank you Gaynor, you were lovely.

...what: no yacht moored in Puerto Banus, a short walk from the villa?
