I'm watching "Tonight with Trevor McDonald". Michael Nicholson reporting from Baghdad. So used to seeing TV reports on BBC and ITV I was gobsmacked to learn that all the US news crews left the city 24 hours before the campaign started.

I saw that too Mart. No comment from me either.

It was a good report though. Considering how shite Trev is and the wankers like Jonathon Maitland etc that appear on Trevs dire show Nicholson is the only talent on that pathetic excuse for a current affairs prog.

i think the yanks left for obvious safety issues. the brits can stay because they still command a modicum of repect from the iraqis. the iraqis actually hate the americans and as such the yank reporters would have been stones to death at the first chance.

Dont be silly carl. That regime is fond of torturing and killing its own people but I think you will find they draw the line at westerners. The western POWs they nabbed in the last war came home safe. And apparently the female US soldier rescued the other day was treated very well in that Iraqi hospital despite the fact that she killed about ten Iraqis before they took her prisoner. So I doubt they would feel the need to plug some tv reporters just for a laugh. Or am I being niave?

If the Iraqis are going to kill some western reporters (rather than them being shot in friendly fire by the yanks as has happened so far) can I suggest dropping the whole BBC Watchdog team and Anne Robinson into central Bagdad with huge stickers on their backs saying "shoot me".

Besides, they'd have more value as hostages.

Not Anne Robinson though. They can keep her. And I am sure I speak for the whole House when I say Saddam is welcome to the ginger cow. They could use her dire show and repugnant hectoring voice to torture people. She is the weakest link. And can we also have the right honourable gentlemans assurance that Ainsley Harriot and his wandering hands can also be thrown to the wolves. We should not advance on Bagdad until the menace of Robinson and Harriot have been dealt with by a regime even more torturous than tea time telly in the UK.

(cue racous shouts of "hear, hear" from all sides of the House)

Yes take Graham for he is a tedious little twat. Dale is not that bad though because he can shut his mouth and listen unlike the aforementioned Irish Gay Bigmouthed Giggling Waste Of Skin......Twat.

Yes back to Southpark.........Its a repeat. Seen it back in 1992. Seems like yesterday etc
