Das Boot. Excellent. But dont watch the dubbed one it is shite. Get the origanal german soundtrack with subtitles. All those silly stereotype german accents and manic cod teutonic cackles dubbed on by yanks ruined it and they changed the dialogue to put in references that american viewers would get. Such as replacing references to places etc. Another piece of evidence to prove how insular the yanks are. They even had subtitles on Trainspotting in american cinemas. If we can learn to understand their various accents including the fast talking bitch slapping gun totin bros in Spike Lees films then they should at least try to understand our various accents. They think we all talk like Dick Van Fucking Dyke. Have a look at our culture please America, we are immersed in your culture and we like most of it apart from your crap TV (Friends? Rikki Lake? Fuck off!) and shitty beer. So at least have the decency to learn something about us and our rich culture which extends beyond our Royal Family and the Beatles. Rant over.

Liz does Elvis still work in that Chippy in Mosside?

Magoo has left the building.

Off to listen to some Eminen now (his views on women and homosexuals are very enlightening)

Or even Eminem. I was thinking of his less homophobic feminist brother Marshal Mathers 3.4.

Are you not thinking of Olivers Army by Elvis Costello? An entirely different Elvis altogether. The lyrics are about the presence of British Troops in Ireland.

I own one Elvis film: 'King Creole', supposedly his best. I saw some other films, among them definitely 'Fun in Acapulco', on Dutch television. All films I have watched prove clearly the guy could not act at all. His films were a tragic mistake. This does not mean he was not a great singer - he was, in his early days. The only convincing scenes in 'King Creole' are those where he performs.
I think the question which was his best (or rather: least bad) film is irrelevant.
Sorry if I offended you. It's my opinion for what it's worth.
