A nice sentiment but I had to remove my cross of St George from public display this morning. The local bill insisted I take it down as it may cause public offence!! How & Why? Smacks of P.C. gone mad!
I refused only to be told that they'd arrest me if I failed to comply.
It would now seem to be a criminal offence to display my National flag on my own property in my own country on its Patron Saints day!
Doesn't it make you proud!!!!!
P.S. The parish church is currently flying a huge flag! maybe they're exempt prosecution or could it be that PC Plod is too idle to climb the tower & remove it!

Just like some councils won't fly the Union Jack if they have got a large immigrant community so "it won't upset them" Who's country is this?
Why don't we celebrate St Georges Day in England, all our European neighbours have Saint days & festivals off, why can't we? The Scots,Welsh & Irish should have their saint days off too.

I suspect you of talking bollocks. Your post sounds like a troll trying to stir up NF sentiments.

Thanks a lot!
Just posting what happened this morning. I don't post on here very often but occasionally I feel the need.
No I'm not a Troll & I'm most certainly not a fan of the NF. (They're the cause of the pettiness encountered regarding our National flag these days)
I'm just proud to be English & thought I'd air my grievance about what happened. My mate next door is a Scot & he regulary flys the Saltire without a problem.
Mind you the PC Plod was Welsh! maybe that was the problem, lol. (JOKE)

No: this sort of thing sadly tends to happen in Blair's Brave New World, plc.
That said, we English are far too cool to need to resort to such ostentatious displays of nationalism (pace the NF/BNP and other assorted idiots).....it's strictly for those nations with inferiority complexes.

I would love to know what grounds the police would have for deeming the flying of the flag to e illegal.
