Why hasn't Paul Weller been knighted yet?

You've got idiots like Paul McCartney and Alex Ferguson, yet the genius of "Sir" Paul continues to be overlooked.

sir , if your not born with a title ,its not worth anything.
they give them to lollypopladies
its just a ploy to make the working class (oiks) think they can achieve something in life, while those of us titled folk count all our money and laugh at you from the safety of our stately homes

Just a clever reference to their name I think! Eating roly poly's eating roly poly's doesn't have quite the same ring to it!

Given the past record (no pun intended) on honouring pop and roll stars--- Sir Paul Macca, Sir Cliff Pilchard, Dame Elton John---it's more likely they'll give a knighthood to that self-obsessed turd Phil Collins. What Ray and Paul Weller have is worth much more than an honorific: respect. Given their working class ideals, I can't see either of them accepting a knighthood anyway.

But isn't it about time the words, "Arise, Sir Marcus," were heard. Sadly, more likely to be "Arise, Sir Officer Dibble."
