A Song About A Loony

Can anyone remember this song and who performed it? I can only remember one lyric which was:-
"did i ever tell you about a funny little man who was crazy"
It was a jazz style thing from the sixties that my dad used to irritate me by singing at me if I disagreed with him. Which was every day. Do you think he was trying to tell me something?
