Actually you cant beat Rainbow Trout lightly poached with a bit of butter and some parsley or sage. With some winter veg LOL
Theres a stream near me where you can literally pick the trout out of the water. Its a very shallow stream with a sandy bottom and you can literally flip the trout out with your hands. Big fuckers they are too. I reckon its the fertilizers on the fields that cause the trout to be so big. Honestly these cunts are massive and whats more its a peice of piss to catch the fuckers.
My trouser trout is pretty huge. And I layed a right splendid Brown Trowt in the lavvy today! Sorry bit of bum humour for the lads!

Yeah. JJ is fond of them too. Theres not much meat on them though.
I used to have a tropical fish tank with nice Neons and Angels but then a certain woman who will remain nameless bought a couple of Cyclids and they killed every fish in the tank. She said "Oh! I thought they looked pretty". She was right they did look pretty. Pretty hungry if I remember correctly.
And you dont want to hear about the terrapin fiasco!

poached trout or any fish IS nice, but a tip, save some of the poaching liquor (court boullion) and reduce it in a pan, add cream and reduce it more and add small nobs of butter and let them melt so the consistancy is correct. This is beurre blanc and put a nap over the fish.............beats a lump of butter anyday. MY fave is salmon wrapped in foil with leeks and white wine and dill, then baked for 25 mins, you just cant beat that, unless your queuing at a chip shop pissed and order a greasy bit of roe and chips, and hoy it up the next day.

I agree with al the above, apart from being pissed in a chip shop (cos I don't drink) the rest all sounds good to me.
