This is the O/T Forum, not the OTT forum.
Vicious abuse of ANYONE, no matter how undeserved their celebrity, creates a mean-minded atmosphere that could well spread to other posters and topics and also deter other potential posters from even visiting the site. The same applies to knee-jerk anti-Americanism.
As an illustration I've just edited several posts in the Spunky Birthday thread - not because it is the worst example, but because it happened to be at the top at the time. In fact the worst offender did not contribute to that thread.
Some of you need to see yourselves as others might see you, especially new arrivals at this board who can judge you only by recent outpourings.
In future posts which exceed our tolerance theshold will be removed - as at least one already has - not edited.
And if you call me a humourless bastard, that will be deleted too.
But you won't be able to in this thread.
