Over-rated Comedy programmes

We all had our two penn'th worth with Best Comedy Shows, so lets get started on not so much the Worst Comedy programmes, but the most over-rated ones. I have absolutely NO hesitation nominating Only Fools and Horses which in my opinion is dire, it really is. I expect I may have opened a can of worms here, but I really think it is bollocks. Other nominees are The Good Life, Butterflies and Ever Decreasing Circles that still get rave reviews by ponces 'in the know'.

when butterflies finished there was a short lived one with amanda barrie and mark kingston i preferred this really but there wasnt many made, incidently minder was comedy really i mean it made me laugh so it could be classed as comedy drama.

Early (79-81) Minder was not comedy, it was light drama, but with George Cole really coming into the fore and eclipsing Dennis Waterman, the writers made it more appealing to the masses by injecting humour and after 1982, it was almost The George Cole Show.

I hate Ali G. I think The Office is well written & well acted but is not great comedy. I found One Foot in the Grave a little bit tiresome.

Steve56, in case you havn't noticed, the topic is....Over-rated Comedy programmes.
My nominations; Last of the Summer Wine - it went on for so long it had long turned into vinegar.
Keeping Up Appearances - Mrs. Bucket was a prime candidate to be the foundation of a patio.

Any Yank comedies. I just can NEVER see the appeal of virtually any of them. 'Married with Children' weren't bad mind you what with it's none wholesomeness and lack of 'do the right thing' ending. Much more British i always thought. From Here, 'Red Dwarf', 'The Fast Show' to name 2. These were God awful

That thing with the blurry videos of "look-a-likes". It may be "award-wining", but it's still shite!
