Missing the point

Okay, maybe this should be part of the worst Britons thread, but here goes:
The rules behind the voting on that programme were that you couldn't vote for dead people or for people who were in jail. That left you to vote for politicians, Z-list celebs and annoying rock stars.
How can Channel 4 call the programme 100 Worst Britons when there is no Peter Sutcliffe or Harold Shipman. Lawrence Llewellyn-Bown might be a camp fop, Jordan might be thick as two extremely short, thick planks, and Liam Gallagher might be a drunken twat hanging on to his more talented brother's coat tails for the sake of fame and riches. But these people (and the Frank Skinners and David "I wasn't on the list" B***iels of this world) are a minor irritation. How can you choose Peter Stringfellow over Dennis Neilsen, Carol Vorderman over Thomas Hamilton, H over Rose West, or Anthea Turner over Jeffrey Archer.
There is genuine evil in this country, the kind of evil that takes a Milly Dowler or a Laura Torn from their families and leaves an aching void. To place Blair or Thatcher on such a list is fair as to a lot of people they do embody evil----and they both have/had power to cause awful things to happen. But to blame Simon Cowell or Martin Bashir or even Chris Evans for what's wrong with Britain is just a nonsense.
Trivial, empty-headed trash from the people who brought you Big Brother.
