Why oh why

I appreciate the irony in me writing this, but:

This forum is almost becoming an offshoot of Points Of View (albeit with sweary words and the sort of abuse which sadly is never heaped upon untalented Tv "stars." An occasional constructive post would be nice.

If we can agree that every hated celeb mentioned here should be put against a wall and shot, that the terrestrial Tv channels show a pile of poo punctuated by the occasional gem, and that we all have different tastes in music and there should be room for Bob Marley, The White Stripes and even Mantovani here, then we can maybe get on.

More humour please, and less whining. And that goes double for me, Major C. Whiner.

All for a bit of The White Stripes. VERY refreshing considering all that manufactured bollocks out there, AND Meg (Drummer) has got fantastic boobs, and I do mean fantastic!!

I do sympathise. But to be fair I don't think the amount of whining is to do with the amount of rubbish out there, but more the stupid amount of attention and media coverage it's given. This has a hall of mirrors effect that both makes people think there's more trash than there actually is, and, worse, perhaps blinds them to the good stuff out there (and there is, you just have to look harder, that's all). Personally, Radio Three, a good glass of scotch, and a leisurely surf through the net make it all go away nicely.

That's a sensible, intelligent viewpoint. The hall of mirrors image is probably accurate. Thanks for that, TLW.
