Was it a horror or a comedy or even a comedy/horror like the Troma films? A rough idea of which genre its in might help people to make a guess. Sounds like the sort of thing Troma would put in one of their silly films.
Dr Giggles (not a Troma film but a serious-ish horror) had some very nasty but spectacular medical implement murders. He was a psycho doctor who giggled as he butchered teenagers (leaving the pretty white girl till last of course in true horror tradition) but might have done a dentistry-murder in the film just for variety. The version on Channel Four had all the real gore cut out. But I saw an uncut version on Swedish TV and it was pretty amusing and horrific. Lots of amusing medical one-liners from our murderous hero. But not so ridiculous as to be non-scarey like Brain Dead and those other silly splatter films which were so OTT they were laughable.

Pulled teeth out with a chainsaw? I'd like to see that done. 'The Dentist' or it's sequel is the obvious choice and i've seen the 1st(which your description isn't) but not the 2nd which i suppose it could be. Ca yu give us more details like era, star, type of film etc. If Corbin Bernsen plays the Dentist then it's 'The Dentist ' or it's sequel.

Mr Walker has interfeered with my memory, but I believe it was a film concerning the younger brother of a Secret Agent type guy, and the "extractions" were to make himm tell the truth-of which he had no knowledge"
There were a couple of well-known stars. Roy Scheider comes to mind.
Was it "The loneliness of the long distance runner"?
One of those things that when you have the abswewr, you say "YEA, OF COURSE"
You've got me at it now! Somebody shed some light?!

Marcus thanks for mentioning "Loneliness of the long distance runner". I liked that film but it did not feature a chainsaw wielding dentist.
It starred a teenage John Thaw and Tom Courteney. Thaw looked ancient even as a lad. It was a black and white film about a lad who is sent to borstal but triumphs as a cross country runner.
One of those new breed of films that surfaced in the early sixties that featured regional accents rather than the hilarious films of the 40s and 50s where Liverpool dockers would say "Wot ho chaps. I am off to the public house for a light ale. And then I shall have a drunken brawl while still speaking very posh. And my missus is even posher you know. Shes at home cooking some scouse". I was watching one on C4 recently and pissing myself at the crap attempts of the posh actors to sound like they came from oop north. Harry Enfields skits were very accurate

DM
If you'd have said it was a [pormo film, to start with, you would not have got us all rackin our tu=iny brains. In future, fucking specify.
Magoo, The one I.m thinkin of may not be the Long Dist.etc. but Woody has it right about "my one". Twas a US film and Roy Sheider was the elder bro - a secret agent or something - ans the kid had his teeth pulled by the evil doc/nazi or some such.
Fuckit, Ill continue this discussion with the Chairman. & Mr Walker
But any future info will be presented to the Board on the morrow
