Did I hear right has that little mockney bastard got a gong?.....for what?.....doing ads for Sainsbury's, running a restaurant and being on TV and being visibly coked-up on camera, not very startling really. He's a rich man's son (catering trade) who got in and got on and got to do what he wanted to do *and* get very well paid for it and they are handing out awards like nobody's business. Your answers on a post-card. If I had an MBE/OBE I'd send it back on principle in a dirty envelope second class. I'm annoyed, first it's that useless fudge packer Beckham now it's this non-entity, give me Keith Floyd or even Gordon Ramsay any day.

probably more to do with him spending half a million quid of his own cash setting up a non profit restaurant so some unemployed kids could have a chance at doing something with their lives.
Fair play to the fella i say, even if he is still a tosser!
Well yes but....

Well yes I did watch a bit of that TV series but it's really about PR isn't it and they always get the money back in fees once there's TV interest. Yes OK I accept what you say, he's never been the the Chris Evans must-die-soon category but an MBE for what is really a publicity stunt? This is what Richard Branson has been doing for years, the pretentious front of altruistic old hippie businessmen when in fact these old hippies are the most ruthless of the lot, aka Bill Gates, Ben & Jerry, people like that. RB is a very ruthless guy, actually an arms dealer before his aunt Joyce lent him ?60K (in 1971 at extortionate interest) to set up Virgin. I never bought the PR that he was some kind of self-made guy in a phone box setting up a business, not even a barrow boy. It wasn't all that difficult to start a real business back then either. Why has he got a knighthood? He's just run businesses and made money, hasn't really been operating in the public sector or for the benefit of ordinary people at all.
