Anyone used a canon xl1 on a shoot?

Has anyone had any experience of using a Canon XL1 dv cam on a shoot? Will it be any good using indoor/natural lighting and will it be too heavy for hand held gonzo stuff? Grateful for any advice.

We have used the XL1 and it is an excellent camera. However with that said the GL1 is much better for gonzo type stuff as it is smaller easier to handle. Same great quality with out a few of the bells and whistles.

Thanks for that! I take it that the GL1 is the same as the XM1 model but called the GL1 in the States?
