I recently ordered a DVD from this Paris based company. My credit card has been debited but the company, before it will send the DVD, wants further information about the card issuer and it also wants me to fax or e-mail official proof of ID. The explanation given by the company is that this is my first order and it is part of it's credit card fraud prevention measures. I am a little bit concerned about this request for further information and I am wondering if any of you have come across this before or am I being overly cautious/concerned.

Yes I had to do this when I placed my first order with Dvd Empire. I had no problems with them. I faxed them my passport.
