I have just recieved a mail order video catalogue (STB) and along with the usual " I am over 18" It states:

"You expressly wish to view the explicit contents of the videos you have ordered under your freedom of expression rights, as conferred upon all EEC citizens by the European Court of Human Rights."

Another company (Tabor) states that UK laws have changed for the better recently, although I don't have that catalogue at hand to quote accurately.

Does it now mean that European laws over rule UK laws and allow us to buy what we want (within reason) or is this marketing bullshit? Internet sites still warn UK customers of Customs.

Eh both, it is against the law to market un-certificated material into the UK no question. If a company in Holland markets products into UK unlawfully it breaks an international law and the fines could start at 100,000 Eros. As for mail order I have a company we supply had its credit card account seized and ?40,000 held till all liabilities for transactions are cleared for suppling adult materials (poss 18R's but they don't say so) So wake up don't think this is all over and we can bully the authorites.
