Go to the FAQ 2.3.

Or, to cover points sometimes missed -

copy the whole of the url from the address bar of your browser by clicking in it to highlight it, then holding down Ctrl and pressing C.

go to the forum page where you want to post a message and the space for typing in messages

click in it and type a

the complete url is now surrounded by angle brackets with no spaces,

Most of the errors seem to come from not giving the whole url or making a typo when typing it out. The above avoids both. The exception is links to forum messages where you must remove any occurrence of a # from the url you paste in.
