You have absolutely got to check out a film called Ong Bak from Thailand.
One of the best ever martial arts films.
Pisses over Jackie Chan totally! Don't get me wrong, I'm a big Jackie fan for his 80's stuff but this film has some of the hottest action ever!

This link will take you to a French page with downloadable clips. Just make sure you have a DivX Codec installed,it's well worth it.
The video's are all in Thai and show the behind the scenes and also some action compilations from the film.

Download all 7 clips and you wont be disappointed.

I don't know if anybody reads it but in the July issue of Impact magazine there is an article about a new website called
It sounds like it's going to be an international community for people who have and want to be action film stars/extras. I've not checked it out myself.

I checked it out last month.
I think it's the one where you pay to join.
I'm not registered with them as I have regular work coming in thankfully.
Too many tricksters are using that site to get work.
I hate tricksters.
Breakdancers and failed gymnasts as fas as I'm concerned.

when you say tricksters, define what they are? i know of a number of people who have tried for work in martial arts movies, and they were told that little tricks gave the veiwers summat to hook them into a fight scene.

Tricksters is the name given to people that do the odd flip and twist.
They don't cut the mustard to be martial artists and they suck at good form gymnastics so they pretend to belong to some defunct Capoeira group.
Initially, they look ok, til you realise that the rep is pretty lame.
However, there are some class martial artists who can bust some extreme moves as well.
Tricksters just look very sloppy and have a real bad line.
I have yet to meet one that can match my 720 on line and then bust a side flip...AND I SUCK!
