Is it a sport?? NO! in my book it,s a pastime requiring luck some practice and the ability to walk a lot when drunk and full of prawn sandwiches, akin to snooker and darts, it also aquires the same storytelling skills as fishing!
also if all the golf courses in the country were ripped up, we could have more roads housing and hospitals, there,s grown men on the radio at the moment wanking at the thought of "Tiger" what sort of fuckin name is that!
(says Lizard...he he) swinging his wood. Waste of a good walk.
right! a brew I think.

Golf is a great game, but under certain conditions. I HATE, absolutely HATE the poncey etiquette that clubhouses employ, I hate the tosser members of clubs, poncey club captains and vice-chairmen etc. I hate the 'clique' of members looking down their nose at people just starting the game.
I do love getting on a municipal course with some mates, and playing a nice round of 18 holes............well away from the wankers that seem to think its 'their club'
I fully agree that top venues should be bulldozed and made into parks for the public to appreciate, not the 'few' who 'know the right people'

Some famous person who I cant remember said "Golf is a good walk ruined". Was it WC Fields or someone?

It might have been Walt Whitman, but I stand to be corrected, then sit down afterwards.

WC IS correct Magoo, but Winston Churchill, NOT that Fields slag.
Immortalised in the film 'Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels' for the new generation of golf haters
