Mine was Banana Splits before we emigrated, but once in Hong Kong, I saw TV shows a good 2 years before they arrived to Britain like Happy Days. At the time, that was ESSENTIAL viewing for ANY 14 yr old kid, although it does look shit now!!
Good thread Steve (for a change)

Happy Days would raise a few eyebrows if it was made these days.

I mean a forty year old Fonz hanging around with a bunch of teenagers. He would be on the register these days.

I remember the Banana Splits and a cartoon called The Hair Bear Bunch. Scooby Do was OK until that irritating little cunt Scrappy Do joined the show.

Stig of The Dump. Dangermouse. Rentaghost. And various others stick in my mind. There was an Aussie show called Home about kids in care that was pretty good. Also Grange Hill when Tucker Jenkins and Gripper Stepson were in it. And Roland Browning the fat kid who got pestered by the black girl who used to say "I only want to help you Row-Land"

I really didnt like Why Dont You? They were all Welsh I think.

grange hill
