Tonite, I had the pleasure of watching 2 rather good films.

Firstly, PhoneBooth. Not half bad at all. about 70mins and it's the first film in ages that I have watched in one sitting.
Yes, 70 mins inside a PhoneBooth can actually keep you hooked!

But the suprise film has to be, Vanilla Sky.
OK so I took my time in getting round to this one.
A remake of the film Abre Los Ojos.
This film, although slated at the time, I think is absolutely brilliant, in a surrealist, existentialist way.
Really does keep you guessing and has some wonderful twists & turns.
In a age when it is so uncool and unhip to say "I like Tom Cruise", I have to say, he does a damned fine job in this film.

Very thought provoking, disturbing and possible. I can't really say too much without giving it away.
Please, if you have seen this, don't spoil it for anyone who hasn't.

I recommend it to anyone who appreciates things a little off center.....and yes Steve56, Penelope Cruz does get her little tits out at one point.

Next week, I shall be talking to Vinnie Jones over the fone and telling him that I have a high calibre rifle trained on his kneecaps.

Cruise can be good---as is proved by Vanilla Sky, Born On The Fourth Of July and Magnolia, among others. VS was a film that had you thinking all the way through, though I can't say I was too impressed by Ms Cruz.

Phone Booth I'll look out for. Thanks for the recommendation.

I just watched Ferris Bueller's Day Off for the nth time. Okay, he's a cocky little shit---but gets points for style and humour. Of course, almost 20 years on, he's probably running a right-wing think tank in the White House.

he's done good films steve but his attitude stinks like most of them but in 1998 i got the chance to meet Arnie , Bruce and Sly who were co-owners of the planet hollywood chain of restaurants i was in Reno NV. and they are really down to earth actors and have time for there fans or for the press.

BRUCE WILLIS

your talking about Whole Nine Yards. Last Boy Scout was a good film but the Die Hard Series is good , aswell as a film he was in called Striking Distance, and he played well as a bad guy in The Jackal.
