As you may well know, one of your classics has been remade, meaning The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I've not long downloaded the trailer and it looks stunning. Go to to view. There was also an excellent early review over at AICN. The US gets it in October, but I've not got a release date for blighty.

Why remake a classic like that anyway??
Look out for Cabin Fever...looks very gory
Have just watched House Of 10,000 Corpses...Rob Zombie is a sick fuck, really wish we'd seen his Crow sequel and not those piss poor City Of Angels and Salvation

i reckon the tcm remake should b e good, my friends and me had way too high expectations of the first one when i got it 4 years ago when it was stil banned and we hated it , but its steadily growing on me and i can see how a modern version of "ur enemies are the ppl pretending to help u" could be "scary" when put in modern contest, something i cannot relate to in the original (10 years before i was born)
any jason vs freddy thoughts?

I've got the script for Zombies Crow2037 and it sucks Tez.
Real load of bollocks.
Thank God that deranged psycho didn't get a chance to ruin it even further.
Part 4 has finished filming.
It will be the worst of the lot. How do I know? Well Luke Goss pulled out so that has to tell you something!
As for TCM, I'll go check out the trailer but it seems pretty stupid to remake a classic that isn't really that old.
Look what Hollywood did to the Psycho remake.

Why thankyou sir,
Nice to be noticed.
You should read Magoo's stuff.
Funny bastard has me in stitches.
I can send you the Crow2037 script if you want it.
Really is shit though so be warned.
As for Freddy V Jason. I remember this doing the rumour rounds almost 15 years ago. It was in the very early Freddy sequel days.
I thought it would never happen.
Huge risk combining two horror icons.
Ronnie Yu isn't too shit a director so let's just be fair and give it a go.
I have no expectations as the films suck so anything on top is a bonus.
Having said that, I do own the Nitemare box set.
Just want the 8 disc US release.
Ebay is my friend thesedays.
Everything is a remake or a sequel or a prequel.
Where are all the original ideas??
The only sequel I'll be queing for is Once Upon A Time In Mexico aka Desperado II aka El Mariachi III.

Just checked out the TCM trailer. Can't say it does anything for me.
Looks like a load of MTV generation bollocks.
As for Dawn of the Dead remake, why bother?
Again, it's fucking up a classic film!
I have no idea who is directing it but wasn't Romero supposed to do a 4th Dead film? Dusk of the Dead in keeping with the Night, Dawn & Day theme.
Evil Dead was a pure class film.
The above 3 all had a shck value thru some form of original approach to a tired genre.
How can someone think they can remake a classic and maintain that cutting edge??
I can't think of a single remake that has;
a; Done the original justice
b; Been better.
We have foreign language remakes but I'm not counting those.
Vanilla Sky is a good remake of Abre Los Ojos for a start.

Again, Ring was a foreign language remake.
Funny how Bad Boys was a good film, yet Pearl Harbour was a wanky,re-write of history to suit the American dreamers mentality.
Wait a few years and some slag will make "9/11"
Other foreign language films that have done well; Hong Kong/Ringo Lam's City on Fire which became US/Reservoir Dogs which became India/Kaante which became etc etc.
A good story does wonders world wide. Having said that, I thought it was an over-rated pile of shit.
