the man is a comic genius.....but his success comes down to his mates as well..as they all gel really well.......i recommend the dvd...just for the commentery track alone...............i hear theres no third series of the pheonix club,but they are filming the adventures of paddy and max who whe all know did a bunk at the end of series 2

Er yeah ace, i know most people have seen it and the office, im not claiming that peter kay is some comedy secret. I saw him way back when he used to do the sunday show. I was pointing out that i think his writing gets better and better, so less of the sarcastic replys, knobhead, or i'll send max and paddy around.

Peter Kay had always been great on the circuit but whenever he appeared on tv he was cack....Sunday Show included. I reckon he wasn't able to do the things he really wanted to do. Then on a late night slot on one of the telethons (kids in need, I think it was) he did an anti Diana joke. Can't remember it, but was very funny. BBC got shedloads of complaints. Somehow this seemed to allow him to do the stuff he wanted and he managed to transfer his off-screen funniness to the tv.
