WALES v ENGLAND today

How refreshing it was to hear a national anthem sung magnificently this afternoon, compared to the renditions of the US anthem made by so-called "stars" at the Super Bowl and other large scale sports events in America. Full marks to the young lady who sang this afternoon. While on the subject of this afternoon's game, where do Wales go from here?.

The reason is simple.Singing the national anthem at a historical game which your COUNTRY is playing in is always going to have more significance than 2 sporting franchises battling it out
If you were to compare it to say America V Cuba in Baseball where there is a noted rivalry because Cuba keeps kicking their butts you might have a better comparison
or Australia V America in any swimming meet you care to mention
Both National Anthems are sung with passion that goes way overboard

Quarterfinals at the world cup would be a good result
I can't see them catching up to New Zealand,South Africa,Australia,England
They are just too well resourced & trained

Thanks for your optimism. Well, now that I've left Wales to live in NZ I suppose I have to hope that my new national team does a bit better than my old one....lol

Italy and Canada may be difficult to overcome don't you think they are not to bad on a rugby pitch.

I'll concede the Italians match could go either way but the Canadians never
Great atheletes like Fijians but when push comes to shove in the last 20 minutes they'll be blown to bits
The only reason the Italians might be a match is because of their participation in the 6 nations tournament. They are still team with a hell of alot to learn which will count against them.their record in the 6 nations speaks for itself....promising but not yet up to scratch
cheers
