I know the Hollies had a little dabble with Psych ... well 2 albums worth but i wont go about that ...cough as who could forget ' Ye Olde Toffee Shoppe '
but did the Searchers ? Most band of the 60's who were big in 63/64/65/66
faded when the whole hippy thing happened like Gerry and his pacemakers
they could of changed their name to Gerry and the peacemakers but they just sort of faded you know ... they never dabbled in the LSD creativity that makes the 60's decade the best for pop music !, were as the Kinks the Beatles the Stones and the who just all got better .

hollies made a good album in 67 :evolution that track you mentioned elton is on it, the searchers did a cover version of western union that was a us hit in 67/second hand dealer that seems like a eastenders song now, lol.

I do have a copy of Evolution and Butterfly as i might take the piss out of
the hollies but i do love them ...i prefer Crosby Stills and Nash though ...
Like so many band of the 60's the Searchers ended up just doing the Holiday camps through the 80's but found fame in other countrys like Germany ....
Have you seen adverts now on telly for an album by a long haired skinny bloke called Charlie Lansbrough or somthing like that ?

I dont know what Charlie Lansbourgh sound like myself but its good to see WHsmiths backing him with an ad on telly ....
what i mean is soon (if not now)the pop music market will just be for teenagers and Pre-teens music will be plugged on kids tv and early evening POP stars like shows .... so what about an old persons chart ? if it was marketed right people like the Hollies could sell records again and be seen on tv !!
.....all the best to them as i really like the MOVE too ...
