There was a shit-ass "documentary" last night on (arguably) the greatest sexual fantasy of modern times - MARALYN MONROE. An Ikon(my title, not theirs)

How come no-ne even MENTIONED her, herein?
There has NEVER been a sex-goddess since her murder by the Kennedy's & Sam Giancanna.
Modern sex symboils could not touch her ankles, much less even aspire to the magnificent heights thsat she occupies as a GODDESS.

RIP

Every generation has its 'goddesses' IMO

Mae West,Jane Russell,Jayne Mansfield

Their appeal is largely limited to their generation when they were alive and in their prime.

I find women from 1980 onwards more appealing which probably says its more about the viewer than the lady in question

Totally agree about her: also a very intelligent girl who stifled it, for 'fame'.
But didn't you stay to the end? The conclusion was that she probably OD'd unintentionally, rather than fell prey to one of the conspiracy-theory 'plots'.

How many porn rip-offs did they generate compared to Marilyn Monroe?

Several Olinka / Marilyn films in the 80s (also wonder if Marilyn Jess chose her name for this reason) and a Kelly Trump vehicle as late as 2000, nearly 40 years after the death of the original. And a soft porn late entrant in the Emmannuelle series had a blonde standing over a subway grating in a white dress ? la Seven-Year Itch.

The problem with conspiracy theories is you have to suspend belief to the extent that a large group of people involved in a crime (whether it be the murder of Monroe or the assassination of Kennedy) will keep their mouths shut forever about it.

Monroe managed to combine the body of a goddess and a little girl voice with a sense of vulnerability. A very potent combination. None of the others could approach her. The closest woman to her in the 20th century icon stakes is probably Louise Brooks---but she lacked the voluptuous curves of MM.

I read that Hugh Hefners gorgeous wife, Kimberley Conrad decided to divorce Hugh after she found out he had brought the plot next to MM's grave so he could be buried next to the woman who MADE Playboy the initial sucess it was.
You HAVE to admit, she DID have a genuine cause for a 'blob-strop'

nah, could never see what the fuss was about. Like a lot of so called sex symblos of that time she had a hairstyle that put years on her. I always thought women like Raquel Welch and Sophia Loren were sexier (roughly same period).
Anyway if Monroe was the main sex symbol of yesteryear, I think Pammy Anderson has to be the modern equivelent. I saw her recently on the Jay Leno show. Wow! is all i an say, she still looks amazing. If you like that sort of thing though.
