Singer songwriter Elliot Smith has died at his home in LA, after apparently committing suicide. He was 34.
Elliot had released five albums including the critically acclaimed Either/Or and XO in the mid 90s. He was nominated for an Oscar for his song Miss Misery from his soundtrack to the film Good Will Hunting.
At the time of his death he was working on a new album, with a working title From A Basement On the Hill.
