Current ads. here in NZ for the ability to keep in touch with your business emails even when you are on the beach. Wow!
What kind of feckin idiot wants to do that.
And all this new technology was supposed to give us more leisure time.

Someone who lives for their work and nothing else

Can't imagine them getting to the beach

I remember seeing an article about executives suffering from some new behavioural problem/disease of keeping in touch with incoming mail

The most serious period was when they were travelling to & from work

On an average 1 to 2 hour drive they would check incoming mail every 5/10 minutes.Would drive you nutty not to mention the danger of doing 2 things at once when driving-studies have shown concentration wanes and your reflexes dip to levels of a drink driver when you do

cheers

Everyday I see people sitting in cafes with their mobile phones on the table, walking along the street or sitting in the bus holding the bloody things. I thought one reason for making them much smaller was to put them in briefcases or pockets. Its probably less embarassing than being seen in public with your comfort blanket.

Mobile phones are the sperm of the Devil*.
And I'll mention again my theory that of every hour I spend at the PC, I get about 10 minutes' useful work out of it. The rest is fixing all the things that go wrong with it.
Well.......10 minutes' gibberish here, anyway.
PCs are the toenail-clippings of Beelzebub, the bile-ducts of Belial, and the nostril-hairs of Nick.

I used to only get about 10 minutes to the hour aswell until I

Starting wearing a bib
Started wearing surgical gloves & mask
Stopped resting my Coffee Mug on the hard drive tray
Stopped downloading free programs that promised the earth
Became Master Of My Own Universe(learned to hit the bullseye instead of spraying it)

cheers
