Alien - directors cut

Saw the 'directors cut' recently and to save you all coughing up money here's what you're missing - very little.
Basically it had a few seconds shaved off scenes here and there.
There are from what I recall 2 additions - one where Veronioca Cartwright slaps Sigourney Weaver for not letting them back on the ship after John Hurt is attacked by the face hugger - this adds about 20 seconds I would guess.
and secondly and perhaps more significantly towards the end when Weaver is about to blow up the ship she stumbles across the captain all wrapped up in the alien nest who begs Weaver to kill him which she does with the flame thrower.
It does seem slightly pacier from what I remember but it does seem like a cash in. Frankly I'd recommend you only see it if you've not seen it on the big screen before!
