good deal or what?

i was on my way to piccadilly for a meal usually have steak/kidney pud now/then at a nearby pub,but got off at carnaby st went into a newish place had shepherds pie for 3 pound,also lemon tart for 1.[anything these days under a tenner is a bargain]

Does no one from the London papers frequent this site? We have got a ready-made restaurant critic waiting to be discovered.

I find his reviews far more entertaining and incisive than those of, say, Fay Maschler or Michael Winner.
And of course, Steve's watchword is always VFM................

And, of course, Steve doesn't get the added "extras" that Mr Winner enjoys.
