Just been listening to my brothers copy of the new Status Quo cd 'Riffs'.
They've included a cover of Steppenwolf's 'Born To Be Wild' and I was amazed to discover that this all time classic was written by Mars Bonfire!
This must be one of the most stupid names ever.
Incidentally the back cover of the Quo cd is well worth checking out as it has a photo of the gorgeous Michelle Clack wearing the flimsiest pair of denim shorts I have ever seen.

The Quo really rocked in the late 70's but when original members Alan Lancaster and John Coghlan left the albums became more a bit to laid back for my liking.
I listen to the old classics all the time - Piledriver/Hello/Quo etc but when my brother takes round their latest offering I find that I'll listen to it once and then never again.

Pictures of Matchstick men ... now thats a Quo classic !

'Born To Be Wild' has been covered a lot but the worst has to be THE CULTs
off the album 'Electric'

Jesus ..... its the worst guitar solo ever ..... Gary Moores Parisian wankways
is a close second though ..........

check out the cover to 'Electric' and Billy Duffy is holding a Gretch White Falcon ! did he use it on the album ? one of the most expensive guitars in the world ....... is that why the solo's so bad ?
