Call me dumb if you like but what exactly are "posts" and "threads"?

TIA

Well, I hope I'm not being dumb but I think "posts" are the individual messages and "threads" are the logical chains of responses/replies to each "post".
Steve56 is especially guilty of not posting his responses so that they appear directly appended to the message he is replying/responding to. I sometimes think he does it deliberately to make us even more confused....lol

.......and I'd challenge your use of the word 'logical'.
Except of course, for Joe King's Vulcan logic..................

Thanks Mart,

Thats what I thought, but I wasn't certain.

I think it's safe to assume you're correct because the mods haven't interviened and put us straight.

Thanks again.

when someone sends you a letter through the mail, are you in the habit of writing a reply and then sending it off to a completely different person?

maybe, just maybe, steve56 would do that but i doubt it...

or writing a totally irrelevant non-sequitur letter and sending it to your correspondent.
