ive been called this a lot ,does anyone know the meaning of the word?

In your context, Steve, I think the comment refers to your apparent general lack of worldliness, and general wearing of your heart on your sleeve.
.........or it could just mean that you're vulnerable as the rest of us to a good solid kick in the goolies ;-))

Of course you could be vunerable to lasagne, or canelloni, does it bring you out in a rash, garden peas do that with my cat.............or they may have said, 'venerable' thats something entirely different, but I will let jj explain that.............

I can explain 'venerable', certainly.
But I can't explain how peas get a rash from your cat.
That's just weird.

thats funny i had fish/chips in the local yesterday and i was given a choice of garden peas/mushy peas i had the garden peas.
