Does anyone else out there f*cking hate X-Mas, I've had to suffer the worst day at work ever, twats going about with those head bopper thingys, constant playing of christmas carols, constant pressure to join in the festivities etc etc and worst of all it's still 2 weeks away.

Always make sure I'm working over Xmas- that gives me the extra dosh for a really good New Year, a grown-ups holiday with a much longer pedigree.

just bought the radio times for the 'festive' season. about two decent new films, and about three other programs worth seeing.

bah humbug - all those people with 'faux bon homme' being nice to people who they would not piss on, even if they were on fire, the rest the year.

Oh, come on. Try and enjoy it in your own way (however modest) if possible. I know it's been over-commercialised - so has every other day of the year.

But I know what you mean. Really it's the over-cretinization you describe that rankles: idiots using it as a platform for more thoughtless, selfish behaviour and crass antics. If you want to get drunk, do so, but seeing Xmas as an 'excuse' stinks to high heaven. It's sad that a time of the year most suited to repose merely reflects many of our worst aspects. Pass the humbugs, then..
