How do you post a pic on your profile?
I've read the F.A.Q. and tried most things apart from the "web space?" bit.
TIA

Am I correct in assuming that nobody knows how to do this, or nobody can be bothered to advise me?

You can put a link on your profile to a pic of your choice on the Net, but if it's one of your own (i.e. stored on your HDD) you need to load it onto some own webspace of your own because of the system's requirement for a URL.
Sorry to write in English, but I don't speak Computerese.............

Thanks jj.
I have been struggling trying to post a pic from the net.
I've followed the instructions on pic posting in the F.A.Q. [img].
I'm obviously doing something wrong but I can't work out what.

you've ballsed up the link.
you currently have the following in plaice (chortle):
http://[ img ]
http://www.fishtoons.com/images/halibut.gif%20[ /img ]
albeit, without the blank spaces inside the tags which i've inserted so that you can see the code.
this needs to be changed to:
[ img ]
http://www.fishtoons.com/images/halibut.gif[ /img ]
again with the blank spaces removed.
so, remove the superfluous 'http://' which you have before the first image tag...
and then remove the unwanted blank space that's in the address - that's the '%20' bit - something which gets stuck in automatically where ever there's some white (i.e. blank) space in a url.
or you could just cut'n'paste my version and eliminate the blank spaces from that.

Thanks Woodgnome, but I'm certain that I'd already tried that. So I just copied & pasted your version then deleted said spaces &... still no joy. The http:// at the begining keeps appearing when I go back to edit profile not because I typed it in.

oops! (insert smiley denoting furious blushing...). my mistake! you only need to paste in the url - no tags or code of any description are necessary. anyhoo, i've cleaned things up and you are now sitting pretty in your deckchair for all the world to see.
p.s i'm surprised that you link to a site which so callously displays a gloating humanoid parading one of your murdered brethren on it's homepage.

Thankyou most kindly Woodgnome.
Thanks also for alerting me about the gloating humanoid situation. As you are aware a percentage of humanoids manage to kill, mame, destroy and generaly bugger up most things they come into contact with. At least you can create Halibut - Humanoid harmony through this forum.
Thanks again
