Hi,Just returned from Prague.Arrived at the main railway station,taxi driver wanted 1980 CZK that's ?49.00 for a ride to my hotel 2 km . Told him to F*ck Off.and walked.Fare should have been 150 CZK.Meet a couple who paid 3,000 CZK ?75.00 from the airport.
If anyone goes to Prague and it is a wonderful city beware

The taxi drivers in Prague are notorious for ripping people off. When I went with a bunch of mates, we booked online with a group of American/Canadian guys who run either taxis or a minibus from the airport to the city - total approx ?40 between six of us.

And it's not only in Prague that the taxi drivers are bastards. Just got back from Edinburgh where a taxi from Princes St to our hotel in the Haymarket area was costing ?5 - ?6. Only on the last night ? thanks to an honest driver not going the scenic route ??did we realise that the real fare was more like ?2-90.

Was in Prague for new year, wonderful place....when using a taxi always ask first how much, should cost max 650czk (?14) from airport to city centre even using the Airport Taxis

on the whole in london i cant really complain as i use cabs quite a lot,but there has been a couple of incidents:depends on where your going mate or going the long way round leaving the clock on when stuck in a traffic jam.

Jeez, what am I the ONLY person who hasn't ever been to Prague ?!

I haven't been to Prague, down here in Southampton on Sundays the taxi firms are on tariff 3 all day apart from one firm who don't raise there tariff's after 11pm or any other day.

Only Taxi firm we use is them feed up of being ripped off by other companys
West Quay Cars they are in National Express coach station.

Also found a really cheap airport taxi firm that took us from our door to Gatwick last month for ?112.00 return as national express couldn't promise us we would arrive in time to check in....for Mallorca.

Going back in March for the third time hopefully to See the Pirates Show in Magalluf.
