A really pointless "funny thing happened'

......to me this week.
Last week I arranged for my cars 40,000 mile service. As I was at 39,5xx miles, and knowing I had to travel to cockneyland and back, plus all the running about mileage, I thought by the time I got to the garage, I'd have ticked over the 40K mark.
As I pulled into the car park, I thought I'd see exactly how many miles i'd done,(just in case a spanner boy decided to make it his run-about for the day) Anyway, the odometer was exactly 40,000 even the tenth was at zero.
Little things......

Cool, always nice to keep an eye on your mileometre isnt it. I watched mine tick over the 90,000 mark which was ....nice. What sort of car is it?

A really boring Toyota Avensis. Trouble is their so bloody reliable and impossible to break. This is my third, and I've never had a breakdown. (You know whats going to happen this week!) I traded the last one in at 105,000 and that was on the original clutch and battery.
I was quite suprised they replaced the brake pads this week under warranty. That thing usually comes under wear & tear.

I did 155,000+ miles in my SAAB without a breakdown.
I sold it recently to a friend... within a few hundred miles of them having the car it broke down!

Bimmercat and I were saying in another post what excellent cars Toyota and Honda make. In every sense from what I understand, they just dont aesthetically appeal to me sadly, Ive never even been in one lol but would probably be surprised if I did. If its "boring" and you've had three then there's gotta be something good there aside from reliability?
+ yeah you were lucky to get away with wear and tear on your warranty hehe

Its just the quality and reliability and value for money that keeps me there, I still think they're boring midlle-aged family cars. But they're the best in my price bracket, nothing wrong with them, but just don't "do" anything for me other than being a mode of transport.
My tastes only start to get excited around the ?50K bracket.

aw thats a shame though. I think a lot of "regular" cars are extremely nice, but them Im not one to get excited over pictures of sports cars. I just think id EXPECT a sports car to be fast/luxurious etc but when a regular car is like that its a pleasure...get a VW
