Winpatrol

I see a lot of people on this forum saying certain programs
have installed themselves or taken over their browser.

I suggest you all download a program called WinPatrol.

It is FREE, and will set itself to start up everytime Windows
starts up.

It then monitors your PC and will let you know if anybody
tries to change anything on Windows, install a new program,
change your browser or whatever.

You get a message asking if you want it to allow the chanes
and you can say yes or no.

You can also look at your cookies, look at all running tasks
etc.

Nice call Guilbert. Lots of useful functions especially the cookies bit. I'm starting from scratch having deleted all cookies and checking every one Scotty alerts me to. I can then decide whether or not to keep it and if necessary add it to the Nuts section. In the past I've never been sure what to do about cookies.

I'm of the thinking that there is no one solution

Put all your eggs in one basket and expect to be shat on from a great height

Technology is constantly evolving...you only need look at how mnay viruses
are updated to the anti-virus list every week

cheers

Hey Guilbert, I'm beginning to regret the cookies business. Scotty dog is a persistent little bugger, he keeps notifying me about new cookies even when I've checked them or got rid of them. Have you had this annoyance?
