the london Loot (available on the web too) is always a good bet or any london evening paper for that matter.

or get on the net and just type in london lettings. just make sure the agancy is ARLA registered.

6 weeks is plenty of time. dont panic. most places want immediate tenancy or within the proceeding 4 weeks. it shouldt take u more than 2 weeks to find somewhere in london.
then u just spend the other 4 weeks tearing ur hair out trying to get references and deposit together.

Expect a barrage of offers from Steve56.
Nothing wrong there, I know I would offer if I lived in Putney again ;-)

I've got a ground floor studio flat (with garden and its own parking space) which is currently empty - It's in North London.

Don't know whether you would consider that suitable but if you're interested e-mail me privately.

cheers

Best to decide on an area of London (looking all over simply not practical) then just register with three or four letting agents in that area, and keep checking out Loot newspaper and website. Six weeks is shedloads of time. I don't know of any instances where it has taken longer than two weeks to find somewhere and move in. In fact, the six week lead-in might be why you are finding it difficult to find somewhere. Given that in most places tenants have to give a month's notice, you'll probably find a lot more places coming onto the market in the final month before your intended moving date.
