Unfortunately, the Champions League is almost all big boys. It's the footballing equivalent of the country club where the rich and famous don't have to rub shoulders with the hoi poloi. It's UEFA's way of keeping the rich clubs rich and the poor clubs in their place. It also should be done under the trades description act since you don't have to be a champion to qualify.

Elitist and nasty.

True but some Clubs/Big Corporations are definitely bigger than others

Porto compared to Man U is a minnow IMHO

I wonder if ferguson threw a boot at Tim Howard

Rather funny how an American let his Brit teamates down

The WMD must have been in the ball

I suspect Ferguson was too busy throwing his teddy out of the pram, as usual :-)

Their season is effectively over, now: and so, I suspect, may be Ferguson's tenure........he'll probably jump ship before the board acts.

Theres still the semi against Arsenal to come for the mickey mouse cup

The way Man U are defending it could be ugly...very ugly

Can't see Ferguson abandoning ship just yet given the infighting has supposebly been resolved

cheers

The new manager of a reformed Deep Purple

It is listed as his favourite band...believe it or not
The same site says his new 3 year contract was worth $25
so maybe Aberdeen could afford to take him back

Methinks the share prices will drop this morning. Man United's business plan focuses heavily on reaching at least the last 4 of the Champions League every season.

They are definitely missing Beckham and Ferdinand.

If they win nothing this season, on current form Arsenal will beat them in FA Cup semi, I think a clean out players is very likely. Too many on long term, nothing to fear type contracts, get paid ?2m a year win or lose.
