Apart from Amsterdam, Hamburg was the place to visit for live sex shows in the 70's and much of the 80's. There were dozens of club theatres in the St Pauli area offering this type of entertainment. Generally the ones on the area's main street, the Reeperbahn, were second rate and tourist traps. The ones in the side street called Gross Freiheit were mainly first class.
