Just goes to show how meaningless virtually everything is nowadays and how keen people are to jump on a bandwagon. I wish people would just get over them...and I use to think naming roads after people was saved for really deserving people, oh well.
Oh and stevie to aid your pointless question
edge of darkness - iron maiden
darkness - disturbed
beware of darkness - george harrison
darkness - aerosmith
prince of darkness- indigo girls
darkness - rage against the machine
actually its darkness - idlewild
the list goes on really, do a lil research next time:P

How about 'Darkness on the Edge of Town' - Brooooce!
That said, if it's steet names then maybe 'Darkness on the Hedge' would be better. Time for bed, obviously.

Tossers, absolute twats. VERY over-rated and the singer is so far up his arse, tries to be the 'new' Freddie Mercury.
PROUD to admit that I have NONE of their crap in my CD collection...........I DO have shite there, but NOT theirs!!

Glad to see we all appear to agree. on the whole. Their songs are catchy but it would be total ignorance to claim that they have become so popular just because of music, its not. Its about 90% image and comedy. The only trouble is that the very things I call them a comedy band for - comedy videos, costumes, pyrotechnics etc are the very things that were fantastic about Queen apart from their songwriting which was second probably only to the Beatles, and then not really comparable.
The whole "arent they great musicians" thing is a reasonable point but I can play to their standard and hopefully above and im nearly 10 years younger than them so I expect theres plently of people able to play to that standard just not necessarily using it.

I like The Darkness. Simple, unpretentious fun and no more. Their success made remarkable by having almost zero critical support from the off - it's all been pretty much down to the public, and heartening to see in an age when the mainstream seem to be favouring music that merely compliments their lifestyle or furniture (Dido, etc.) They don't make 'important' music, but, in the bigger picture, they do perhaps stand for something important. And by the way...
'but I can play to their standard and hopefully above ...'
Oh yeah?

er ....yeh...its only fucking solos, anyone can get good enough to play solos for fuck sakes and you nor anyone else knows how good I or anyone else actually is. Solos are the easiest part of a song to write and the guitar does a lot of the hard work. Like I said its all in practise. As for the rest of the guitar well most regular riffs and fills are simple chords or notes, hardly a big deal you know. Ace'll know what I mean.
