SUVs

I heard the author of this book
interviewed on the radio this morning. He said that 30% of the domestic vehicles in the US are now SUVs. I read that last year they made up 30% of the vehicles imported into Oz. I wouldn't be surprised if a similar statistic applied here in NZ.
One noteworthy quote : Vehicles which are potentially dangerous driven at 10kph up a mountain are now being driven at 100kph on the highway.
