I posted this on the main forum but perhaps due to all the HIV/AIDS related posts, this one didn't get a look in, so i thought i'd try it here:

Was watching 'Forbidden Tales' last night starring Tera Patrick with Tera and the director's commentary switched on, i listened to that while watching the film as i had never seen this feature in a porn movie before, quite interesting!
Tera mentioned several times that she has her own professional fluffer. I thought that fluffers were either just a myth in the porn business or that, for some reason, they were a thing of the past.
this made me think: are fluffers more common than i thought? do fluffers exist at all in the UK industry?
I really can't see the point of a fluffer, what do they actually do? the image i've always had were that they were less attractive women than the actual stars and would never be considered for roles in porn films. I can't see why a stud would need help getting hard when they were going to work with someone as attractive as Tera Patrick, and surely they would need to 'save themselves' for the main shoot, wouldn't a fluffer make the guy need to come quicker than if he didn't have one?

I thought they cleaned the pornstars belly buttons .... lol

I could understand the need for a production company to "Hire-In" or have "In-House" Fluffers, to ensure their productions go without delays or problems.

I could understand if a Male Actor required the use of, or had his own Fluffer, to ensure his Working "Ability" was always upto standard.

But why the heck would a Female Porn Star require "Her Own" Fluffer... ???

Does this mean that a Female needs a "Fluffer" to make her moist & ready, the same way a fluffer makes a guy's "Member" available for work ???

I think we have crossed wires here Snake. The impression i got was that the fluffer was for the male's benefit. in the film i think tera patrick was referring to her as "my fluffer" as she was used throughout the whole film, although it was the guys that the fluffer was 'working' on.
As you suggest, the idea of a fluffer purely for women seems unlikely.
