Bloody lawyers

There has been a multi-million NZ dollar seafood poaching scandal recently.
Most of the defendants, although clearly guilty, have been released because there was a flaw in the drafting of the Act under which they were prosecuted. The lawyer who used the flaw in defence said "if I hadn't pointed it out, someone else would have".
Wasn't that a version of the Nazi/Nuremburg argument?
Bastard.
