I think porsche were kinda there first with the number too...
Also maybe the USA emergency services should change their number then?

Did it ever occur to you that they chose September 11th to blow up the
world trade center for that very reason.

To dial the emergency services in the usa is not 999 like us but 911.

Makes you think !

Thats exactly what i was thinking by September 12th, although I thought this would only be merely a sort of taunting gesture rather than a serious statement of any kind. The terrorists were american based and wouldve worked to the month/day system rather than ours.

In America 9/11 was also know as 9-1-1 Emergency Number Day - 911 END.

I know a thing or two about 911's - I've had half a dozen of 'em over the years. The first models hit the streets in the mid-late 60's, so the name had already been established 35 years before the infamous terrorist attack. It's just an unhappy coincidence that the date (expressed in American terms) should match the name of the iconic sports car.

You also might be interested to learn that 9ll's are great fun to drive, totally addictive in respect of their unique, tail-heavy, hewn from solid feel, the sound of the engine, and the explosive acceleration. Every time I took mine out I always promised myself that I would drive sensibly this time...but the car is like a stallion straining at the reigns, and it's such a fantastic rush letting it go...

Toyota's next pick-up model should be called the "Taliban", it's all they seem to over there.
